Welcome to my site

In September 2003, I started my attempt to become the first person to sleep on all of the 162 Scottish islands that are forty hectares and above.

On 29 August 2007, I completed the UK’s greatest ever challenge, when I left Soay St. Kilda. Seventy-seven years previously, St Kilda was evacuated on August 29th 1930.

The name Strangeway, originates from “strang was” which means a person who lives in a place prone to flooding by strong wash.

Upon completion of my four-year adventure Strangeway Bagging was established. A Strangeway being “to sleep overnight on a Scottish island that is 40 hectares and above”.
